TENNESEE WOMAN PLEADS GUILTY TO DEALING MARIJUANA
Cass Prosecutor Noah Schafer announced that Alia Peele, 21, of Cleveland, TN pleaded guilty on Tuesday, Oct 12 to Dealing Marijuana as a Level 6 Felony. The charge arises from an incident from May of this year in which Logansport police officers encountered Peele and two men in a vehicle at Riverside Park. Upon approaching the vehicle, a police drug dog indicated presence of narcotics, and a subsequent search of the vehicle yielded bags of marijuana, a handgun, large amounts of cash and other drug paraphernalia. At the guilty plea hearing, Peele admitted that she had transported the drugs to Logansport from Georgia with one of the other occupants of the vehicle, and was driving him around to conduct drug transactions. Peele will serve sixty days in jail followed by a year and a half on probation, which will Peele indicated she will be transferring to Georgia.
