LEberaia FieldsOGANSPORT – Noah Schafer, the Cass County Prosecuting Attorney, announced that Eberaia Fields has been sentenced to 10 years of incarceration in two cases of operating while intoxicated and resisting law enforcement. Fields also admitted to being a habitual vehicular substance offender. The admissions to operating while intoxicated were Fields’seventh and eighth convictions for operating while intoxicated, respectively.

The cases stem from two instances of drunk driving, one in 2018 and the other in 2021. It was noted at sentencing that Fields had 6 prior felony convictions and 37 prior misdemeanor convictions. Fields was sentenced by Judge Tate of Howard Superior Court 3, sitting as a special judge.

Following the sentencing Schafer had this to say “Drunk driving is among the most reckless things that a person can do to endanger innocent people. We are grateful to the law enforcement officers who apprehended Mr. Fields and we hope the sentence sends a message about drunk driving in Cass County.”
