NATHANIEL EWING
LOGANSPORT – Noah Schafer, the Cass County Prosecuting Attorney, announced that Nathaniel Andrew Ewing, 35, of Logansport, pled guilty to Dealing in a Narcotic Drug and was sentenced in Cass Circuit Court by Judge Stephen Roger Kitts, II to ten years in the Indiana Department of Correction on Thursday.  Chief Deputy Prosecutor Tom Lupke handled the case.

The charge stemmed from an investigation by the Cass County Drug Task Force.  On February 5, 2019, detectives with the Logansport Police Department and Cass County Sheriff’s Department served a search warrant at 3 Fountain Street in Logansport.  During the course of the search, investigators located digital scales, heroin packaged for distribution, methamphetamine, multiple firearms, and a 7.62 magazine drum loaded with 119 rounds.  Ewing has numerous prior criminal convictions, including felonies from 2012 for intimidation while armed with a deadly weapon and possession of cocaine.

Prosecutor Noah Schafer commented after the sentencing: “The Cass County Drug Task Force continues to be a unifying force for local law enforcement agencies to stop dangerous drugs from being distributed in our community.  Logansport is safer today because of their work on this case.”
